Pulitzer Prize-winning former Newsday columnist Les Payne will moderate this important debate between the candidates for Manhattan District Attorney: Richard Aborn, Leslie Crocker-Snyder, and Cy Vance, Jr.
The Manhattan District Attorney’s office plays a central role in criminal justice policy in New York City and is a leading national voice on matters of law and order. This debate will examine the candidates’ positions on fundamental and sometimes controversial rights and liberties issues, including their positions on issues that concern transgender, lesbian, gay and bisexual New Yorkers.

New Transgender Health Care Provider Directory
On July 21st, our partners at the Center's Gender Identity Project hosted the kick-off party for New York's first-ever Transgender Health Care Provider Directory created by partner organization NYAGRA. The directory lists health care and service providers in the NYC metropolitan area who are experienced in working with transgender and gender-variant patients and who are sensitive to their needs and concerns. They include hospitals and clinics, physicians, surgeons, endocrinologists, electrologists, chiropractors, and acupuncturists, as well as mental health professionals such as psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists, and clinical social workers.
HHC Summer Update
Over the last few months, Health Initiative members have made progress, and also hit some roadblocks, in our discussions with HHC about the possibility of creating a transgender clinic within the HHC system. Come hear an update and help form our next action steps to make this clinic a reality.
