Help Us Win More Legal Victories

Donating to TLDEF helps us defend trans Americans from discrimination.

We help people like Charlene Bost, who faced discrimination at Sam's Club, a subsidiary of Walmart.

After Ms. Bost transitioned, co-workers and supervisors began discriminating against her based on her sex. She was repeatedly subjected to a barrage of hostilities on the job which included being wrongfully disciplined and repeatedly called by the wrong name and pronoun.

TLDEF has secured a victory before the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission ("EEOC") on behalf of Charlene. The EEOC found evidence that Ms. Bost faced discrimination, retaliation and a hostile work environment.

"It's difficult being trans in the workplace. Despite excelling at my job, Sam's Club treated me with bias and hostility simply for being who I am. I am extremely grateful to TLDEF for helping me fight this discrimination. Their legal vision and strategy led the EEOC to rule in my favor. With TLDEF's continued guidance, I hope to take my case even further in pursuit of justice."

Your donation will help us help more people like Charlene, and increase legal protections for trans people nationwide. Click here to make a tax-deductible end of year donation.
